The Fall District meeting of Tidewater District GFWC Virginia will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at West Hampton Baptist Church. At this meeting, we will be voting on the adoption of several District Standing Rules changes. Under the duties of the District President, one of these revisions involves defining the President as “the official spokesperson for the district and authorize acts, orders, and proceedings of the district.” Please remember that no District officer or chairman can commit the District to any activity or project without the permission of the District President.
The Registration form for the Fall District meeting is attached to this newsletter. Please review the delegate information included at the bottom of the Registration form to determine the correct number of delegates that your club may have at a District meeting.
The club president or her alternate is automatically a delegate, and the chart tells you how many additional delegates from your club are eligible to attend. For example, a club with 40 members may be represented by the club president or her alternate and 4 additional delegates.
Also, if a member of your club is a GFWC Virginia Officer or Chairman, District Officer, District Chairman, District Past President or District Junior Director, she is an additional delegate to District Meetings. For example, Jane May (District President) is an additional delegate for the Yorktown WC, and Susie Mowry (GFWC Virginia President) is an additional delegate for the WC of Newport News.
We will be electing members of Tidewater District to serve as a Member and Alternates to the GFWC Virginia Nominating Committee at the Fall Meeting, and we need to have an accurate count of delegates who will vote on these ladies.
Club members who attend the Fall District Meeting and who are not delegates should be registered as Visitors.
